The Age of Stupid is an independent film by Franny Armstrong, it has been released internationally on the 21st and 22nd of September, to make people aware of the urgent reality of climate change, move them to activism and to ask a compromise from politicians to reduce CO2 emissions in the UN meeting next december in Copenhaguen.
La Era de la Estupidez es una película independiente de Franny Armstrong, el estreno mundial fue los días 21 y 22 de Septiembre, para concienciar a la gente de la realidad urgente del cambio climático, fomentar el activismo, y pedir a los políticos un compromiso serio para reducir las emisiones de CO2 en la próxima reunión de la ONU en diciembre en Copenhague.
A drama-documentary-animation hybrid, the story is set in the future, in 2055, were a man (Pete Postlethwaite, In the Name of the Father) lives alone in the 'Global Archive' in the now melted Arctic, preserving humanity's achievements in the hope the planet might one day be habitable again. He pulls together archive clips from six real-life tales- including an 8-year-old Iraqi refugee forced to live on the streets of Jordan after her family and home were destroyed during the U.S.-led invasion, and an 82-year-old French mountain guide who has seen his beloved Alpine glaciers melt away; and pieces of news from 2008...and asks himself, why didn't we stop climate change while we had the chance?

Un hombre (Pete Postlethwaite, En el Nombre del Padre) vive en el 'Archivo Global' en un Ártico derretido, donde se almacenan los logros de la humanidad a la espera de que el planeta vuelva a ser habitable un día. Visiona extractos de vídeo de noticias del 2008 y las vidas de seis personas de entonces- entre ellas un niño iraquí refugiado de 8 años que vive en la calle tras perder su casa y su familia durante la invasión norteamericana y un guía de montaña francés de 82 años que ha visto cómo se derretían sus queridos glaciares alpinos... y se pregunta, ¿por qué no frenamos el cambio climático mientras pudimos?
