The Garden of Eden

Inspired by William Morris, this one-off print portrays Adam and Eve in the natural paradyse of Eden. The myth retold captures the moment when Eve seductively offers the apple to Adam, emphasising her blame and closeness to the evil side, with the snake curled around her body and her hair almost like the Medusa's. Tracking back women's curse, we find the gender issues in the biblical story and here the meaning inscribbed in their gendered bodies is underlined by their full nakedness.
Technique: Screenprinting on paper and fabric.
